Africa: Name for Articles thirteenth Excessive-Degree Dialogue On Democracy, Governance, Human Rights, Peace and Safety


The African Union Fee’s Division of Political Affairs, Peace and Safety (PAPS), in partnership with the AGA-APSA Platform and the Authorities of the Republic of Ghana, is happy to announce the thirteenth Biennial Excessive-Degree Dialogue (HLD) on Democracy, Human Rights, Governance, Peace and Safety, happening finish of July 2025 in Accra, Ghana, together with devoted pre-events on youth and gender.

Over the previous twelve years, the HLD has developed right into a premier platform for high-level exchanges on governance and democracy in Africa, usually in step with the African Union’s annual theme. The Dialogue’s suggestions feed into the AU Summit of Heads of State and Authorities by way of the AU Chairperson or the AU Theme Champion.

In its thirteenth version, the Dialogue will align with the AU 2025 theme: “Yr of Justice for Africans and Folks of African Descent By way of Reparations.” This yr’s theme–“Justice, Rights, Reparations, and State-building”–aims to bolster ongoing efforts to deal with historic injustices and forge inclusive, accountable, and resilient governance buildings throughout the continent.

On this context, the AGA-APSA Platform is compiling a particular publication to accompany the thirteenth HLD. We invite daring, analytical, and thought-provoking articles underneath the theme Theme: Justice, Rights, Reparations, and State-building – Tendencies, Challenges, and Prospects that exploring how justice, rights, and reparations can assist:

State-building in Africa Democratic governance Gender equality Youth empowerment Institutional accountability Sustainable growth

Distinctive contributions can be chosen for sponsored participation on the thirteenth HLD in Accra.
