Austin FC striker Brandon Vazquez (ACL) out for season

Austin FC striker Brandon Vazquez will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in his proper knee, the group introduced Thursday.

The 26-year-old ahead sustained the damage throughout Tuesday evening’s street win towards the San Jose Earthquakes within the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals.

Vazquez will bear surgical procedure within the coming days and can then instantly start the rehabilitation course of, the group stated.

“All of us at Austin FC are devastated to be taught of this damage to Brandon, who has confirmed to be an important participant for us on the pitch since he arrived,” stated sporting director Rodolfo Borrell. “We will likely be with him each step of the way in which all through the rehabilitation course of.”

Vazquez joined Austin in January from Liga MX facet CF Monterrey for a reported club-record switch payment of $10 million.
