George Wendt, who performed Norm on ‘Cheers,’ dies at 76


George Wendt, the actor greatest identified for taking part in Norm Peterson on the long-running sitcom “Cheers,” has died. He was 76.

A household consultant confirmed the information to ABC Information on Tuesday and stated that Wendt “died peacefully in his sleep whereas at house.”

Born on Oct. 17, 1948, in Chicago, Wendt started his profession in comedy at Chicago’s The Second Metropolis theater.
