Neil Younger has introduced a brand new album—his first along with his not too long ago assembled touring band, the Chrome Hearts. He leads Talkin to the Timber with a reliably on-the-nose protest music, “Lets Roll Once more,” rallying the American automobile trade to “shield our youngsters” by manufacturing electrical autos at a fee to match China, which is “means forward—they’re constructing clear vehicles.” (“That’s arduous to swallow!” he provides.) In verses to the tune of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land,” Younger zeroes in on Elon Musk: “In case you’re a fascist, then get a Tesla/If it’s electrical/It doesn’t matter/In case you’re a Democrat, then style your freedom/Get no matter you need, and style your freedom.” The video accompanies the verse with a “Heil Tesla” picture depicting Musk’s Nazi-style salute.
Talkin to the Timber is out June 13. It contains Neil Younger and the Chrome Hearts’ debut single, “Large Change.”
