The Los Angeles Angels introduced that supervisor Ron Washington will keep on medical go away for the rest of the 2025 season with an unspecified medical concern.
Washington, 73, has been sidelined for the final week after he skilled shortness of breath on the finish of the Angels’ collection towards the New York Yankees that ended on June 19.
Following that collection, Washington flew again to Southern California and was positioned on medical go away after he underwent a collection of checks. Washington is at the moment the oldest supervisor in MLB.

“We’re beginning to see the character of the staff take the character of (Ron Washington),” Angels normal supervisor Perry Minasian stated in a press release. “There’s some resiliency, there’s some toughness, and that’s precisely what Ron is.
“(The gamers) are going to go on the market and play as arduous as they play for Ron, day in and time out.”
Angels bench coach Ray Montgomery, who stuffed for Washington when he was initially positioned on medical go away, was named interim supervisor.

Washington was employed by the Angels previous to the 2024 season, and is 103-140 in 243 video games with the staff. He was the supervisor of the Texas Rangers for eight seasons (2007-2014) and had a 664-611 document with them.
He led the Rangers to back-to-back World Collection appearances in 2010 and 2011 earlier than stepping down abruptly in September 2014.
The Angels are 40-41 on the season, and have a 7-4 document with Montgomery on the helm.

That is Montgomery’s first time as an MLB supervisor in his teaching profession. He joined the Angels as their director of participant personnel for the 2020 season and have become the staff’s bench coach in 2021.
The Angels misplaced 15-9 to the Washington Nationals on Friday and can look to rebound once they play the Nationals within the second sport of their three-game collection at 9:38 p.m. ET on Saturday.
