The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is conscious and actively investigating an act of vandalism on the Nationwide Holocaust Monument within the LeBreton Flats space of Ottawa.
Police say the incident occurred final night time and the monument was defaced with pink paint that reads the phrases “FEED ME”.
The Hate and Bias Crime Unit is investigating and asks anybody with info to contact them at 613-236-1222, extension 5625.

Native politicians have shared their ideas on the act of vandalism observed this morning in Ottawa.
Ottawa Main, Mark Sutcliffe, took to X saying“It’s stunning and disturbing to see it defaced as we speak. Protests and demonstrations are a vital a part of our democracy. Disfiguring a sacred monument in a means that may traumatize victims, survivors and their households just isn’t.”
“I’m reaching out to Ottawa’s Jewish group and different religion leaders, and to the Ottawa Police Service. Let’s proceed to unite collectively as a group to combat in opposition to hatred in all its varieties.”
