The whole fertility fee is a small quantity with large penalties.
It measures what number of infants, on common, every lady could have over her lifetime. And for a inhabitants to stay steady – flat, no progress, no decline – girls, on common, should have 2.1 children.
Within the U.S., that quantity is 1.6, and dropping. It is driving a brand new political debate about what – if something – could be carried out about it.
